The shop answers this plainly instead of waving at Holland: stems come from Ecuador, Colombia, Holland, Israel, Thailand, Africa, California and Oregon, and from Alberta and British Columbia in season. Availability shifts constantly, so substitutions of equal or greater value are part of the deal — shape, size and colour scheme are kept, and where a single variety is the whole point, the variety wins over the colour. The second is in the northeast, so check which quadrant you are aiming for: Calgary repeats its addresses across NE, NW, SE and SW, and that is the classic way to end up on the wrong side of the river. Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, graduation and December are the crushes, and a few days’ notice is the difference between choosing and taking what is left.
